Leveraging Diversity Innovation: The Disabled
in the Workplace and Marketplace
The disabled population is a critical element of the global diversity
dialogue, as the disabled are members of society in every country throughout the
world. From South Africa to China, the disabled are a rising force in the
workplace, supply-chain and marketplace. Organizations are beginning to craft
new ways to attract disabled talent by designing work in ways that the disabled
can effectively participate and integrate into organizations. Most countries
have regulations concerning people with disabilities and in many cases,
organizations that do not hire sufficient numbers of disabled workers are
subject to penalties. The disabled population is also a major consumer of goods
and services, whose needs are often overlooked in the global marketplace. A
world class panel of experts has been assembled to address the innovations
offered by disabled populations around the globe.
